Direct Wood Flooring

Visited the store trying to decide on flooring for our hall. Excellent choices, too many in fact. Great customer service from the assistant Louis who was very helpful and explained about the different types and qualities and gave great advice. Coming back at the weekend to place our order.

My first experience with dwf was great. Everything delivered on time and of a good quality. Ordered more engineered oak for another room in the house and all seemed well, after following the same process of acclimatising the flooring for a couple of days, laid the floor, following day, one of the long lengths completely bowed causing a bounce around doorway. Horrible squeak and bounce. Laid loads of floors, following all guidelines trade measures and this is the first thats cocked up. I wont use again

We paid £6,397.18 to Direct Wood Flooring (DWF) in March 2025 for supply and fitting, and it’s been a nightmare ever since. The 1st fitter disappeared and delayed our whole project. The 2nd fitter gave extra invoice and the 3rd fitter, Stuart Leil (SL Property Maintenance) they sent claiming to be their best fitter, did a terrible job, leaving the floor uneven, bouncing, and unsafe after wrongly assuring us no subfloor prep was needed. The fitting was incomplete and we asked him to leave our flat before a proper solution can be provided by DWF. For over four months, we’ve had to live with a damaged floor and constant stress. DWF’s staff ignored our calls, gave contradictory advice, and when we went to their store to complain, the sales manager appeared hungover. They also claimed to send an “independent inspector” — which turned out to be one of their own contractors, who never showed up. DWF later admitted the fitting failed and offered to “rectify” it but expected us to accept unclear costs and delays. They even said they don’t provide removal or waste disposal for the bad work their own fitter caused. We had to raise a dispute with American Express, who issued a refund after reviewing the evidence. Despite this, DWF keeps sending emails to collect the unused materials without confirming the full refund from them and compensation for removal and disposal of the rubbish work did by their fitter. DWF keeps threatening to “close the case” if we don’t respond quickly. This has been a horrendous experience — poor workmanship, no accountability, and zero customer care. Avoid Direct Wood Flooring.

Amazing experience buying emergency flooring. Dafydd was very polite, helpful and knowledgeable. We should have more people like him working in retail. Will definitely come back in the future. Hold on to this employee as he is Amazing

I purchased an engineered wooden floor for my kitchen that boasted the following features.... 1) Waterproof 2) Scratch Resistant 3) Durable and Hard Wearing 4) Stain Guard 5) Pet friendly 6) 20 year + Guarantee After ONLY three years, it is literally disintegrating in front of my eyes. Pictures attached. I've contacted Direct Wood Flooring for a refund and all they have done is waste my time.
